Thanksgiving Recap

It was just the five of us this year for Thanksgiving. And, while this bothered me a bit at first, I grew into a feeling of being blessed amazingly a few hours into Thanksgiving Day. My attitude shifted from slight sadness over having no company, to one of thanks for the family we have created. I can't express adequately, how full our home felt that day. God has been so good to us.

The weekend highlights include:

-the food: mashed potatoes, rolls, sweet potato, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce (jellied!), corn, turkey breast, gravy, stuffing, Martinelli's, and pumpkin pie

-playing football the day after Thanksgiving with some new friends

-Lael learning to climb the stairs (watch out, world!)

-cleaning house

-buying a new dishwasher, to be installed later this week (flooded floor!)

-coconut waffles made by Chef Eric

-fires in the fireplace

-knitting

-coffee

-potty training Dean

-putting ALL of our CDs and music onto the computer (and realizing that we can now listen to 11.2 days of music without a repeated song)

-brisk air, mittens and coats

Wonderful memories! Our family was always far from extended family (and I still am). You don't ever get used to it but you always make it memorable.

What a nice weekend. The food sounds delicious. Thank goodness for new appliances. We just had the same experience (wet floor) with our wasing machine.

I am so glad you had a good day. We were at Becky's and it was a nice Thanksgiving but overshadowed a bit by Owen's illness.
